How does the price of emerald or panna determined?

The value of emerald stone is being determined by not only considering a single factor. There are several factors which altogether affect the pricing of a precious emerald stone.  Before proceeding any further, do you know what is emerald stone and how this stone is being composed or what is the chemical composition of this valuable gemstone? One must be aware about all these things because these all factors conjointly affect the pricing of this stone. 

Emerald stone is a green color stone composed of mineral beryl (Be3Al2 (SiO3)6) with trace of chromium that bestow amazing green color to this stone.  It is a robust gemstone with hardness of 7.5 or 8.0 on moh scale (a tool to measure the hardness of a stone) which is just below only few minerals like diamond and sapphires.  While deciding the price or value of emerald stone its following qualities are considered heavily..

Size of Emerald Stone: The size of emerald stone make a great impact on setting the price of this stone. It is evidential that an emerald of small size would be cheaper in comparison to the emerald with large size. S, it is rightly to say that the price of this stone is directly proportional to the size. For example: a stone with 2 carat will cost you less as compare to an emerald stone with 5 carat of weight.

Inclusions or clarity: Apart from this, the price of emerald stone is also being determined by considering the number of inclusions which lies inside the stone. An emerald stone with higher number of inclusion will cost less and its quality and overall value is secondary to a gemstone with low inclusions. Hence, it clearly suggest that while buying emerald stone if we buy a stone with minor inclusion then it would cost us much but persist better quality; on the other hand a stone with large inclusion is cheap but do not have much weightage.

On the basis of inclusions, a panna stone can be divided into four parts:

Standard panna stone: It has large number of inclusions but possesses ordinary clarity.

Fine grade Panna stone: It consist less inclusions as compare to the previous one and attain better clarity. Therefore, it is being sold at higher price.

Premium grade panna stone: A premium grade panna or emerald stone have minor inclusion and significant radiance.

Super Premium Panna stone: A super premium emerald or panna stone contain rare inclusions and have luminous luster. Hence, it is being sold at very high price.
